Ingredients:
- 4 beef burger patties
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 wooden planks for grilling
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon pickle relish
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
Instructions:
Soak the wooden planks in water for 1 hour
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat
Season the burger patties with salt and pepper
Place the soaked planks on the grill and let them heat for a few minutes until they start to smoke
Place the burger patties on the hot planks and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of grilling, add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty and close the grill lid to melt the cheese
While the burgers are grilling, prepare the special sauce by mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, pickle relish, and garlic powder in a bowl
Season with salt and pepper to taste
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a minute or until they are lightly browned
Assemble the burgers by placing lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and sliced onions on the bottom bun, then add the cheesy burger patty, and top it with a generous spoonful of the special sauce
Serve the Planked Cheeseburgers with Special Sauce immediately
