Prepare yourself for a chocolate overload with this decadent chocolate torte! It's a chocolate lover's dream, with layers of rich chocolate cake topped with whipped cream, nuts, and chocolate shavings. Every bite is a divine, chocolatey experience.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped nuts walnuts or hazelnuts
  • Extra chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350F 175C

Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and unsalted butter in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth

Let it cool slightly

In a separate bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring constantly

Sift in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt

Gently fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until no streaks remain

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top

Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs

Allow the torte to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then carefully transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely

In the meantime, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form

This will be used for topping

Once the torte is completely cool, spread the whipped cream over the top and sides of the torte

Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the whipped cream and garnish with extra chocolate shavings

Serve slices of this obscenely chocolatey chocolate torte and indulge!
